The Election

I love the kids view on the election. They got to vote, of course, at school. So Tuesday night, we were having a BBQ out front with the neighbors discussing the election and who we voted for. Ryan said he voted for John McCain. I asked why he voted for McCain. He corrects me and says "it's John McCain, mom, not McCain." Ok then, so I asked why again he voted for "JOHN MCCAIN." He said, "he looked nice." He said another boy copied me and picked John McCain, but another one voted for Barack Obama (it's also not Obama, but Barack Obama). So, this morning on the way to school, Ryan said he was sad that John McCain was not President. I told him that a lot of other people were sad, too. Caitlin said someone in class said the world was going to end now that Obama was President. Amazing what they learn at school, huh?

Isn't he so sweet and innocent?

So here we are laying in bed, when Ryan is most talkative, of course. I will ask him what he did in school when I pick him up and he says he doesn't remember. But, come 9 o'clock at night when it's time to sleep, he suddenly remembers everything. Well last night was pretty funny, so here goes the conversation:
Me: I love you, you are my baby boy.
Rye: I'm not a baby, mom.
Me: I know, but you'll always be my baby and I remember when you were growing in my belly.
Rye: How did I get out of your belly?
Me: The doctor cut my belly open and pulled you out. ( the only time I am glad I had a c-section)
Rye: But, how did I get in your belly?
Me: Well, that's a long story, I will tell you when your older.
Rye: No, tell me NOW!
Me: Not now, Ryan, it's bedtime.
Rye: Just tell me mom.
Me: It's too hard to explain (of course, cuz I have no idea how...Caitlin hasn't even asked me this stuff yet)
Rye: MOM, TELL ME!
Me: Ryan, it's all complicated and science stuff! ( Don't laugh I had no idea what to say!)
Rye: I don't like science.
YEAH!!!! END OF CONVERSATION
Ok, So I admit I need HELP! ANYONE????

Caitlin begged me to have a Halloween party with some of her friends. Of course, I caved! She said, "I never get to have a Halloween party!" Well, I told her how many of her friends get to have one? NONE! Cuz kids don't have parties other than their birthdays. Anyways, it was a lot of fun as you can see. The bobbing for apples was a bit difficult, being that they were plastic full of toys, so you couldn't bite into them : )

JOB update

So for those who have not heard already, I am unemployed! That alone is a long story and if you havn't already been unlucky enough to have heard it, your day is coming! Yes I know I should be happy but when your husband is self-employed, you have to work for medical insurance. I have been looking for a few weeks now and apparently when you have no skills or education it's hard to get a job....well at least if I want to work for more than $10 an hour. Yes, I know I'm picky, but $10 an hour is not going to cover kids club after school, so it's not worth it. I have til the end of November to find a job or I have to pay $1000 for Cobra! So, are you wondering what the picture is for? Well that NEW toy of Bill's just might have to be sold to cover my $1000 a month for insurance! Would you not agree? Anyways, if you have a job that you know I would be good at, you know, talking alot...LOL, let me know! Until then I am available for favors right now, except driving to Scottsdale, Teresa! Remember no job=no money for gas! Just kidding! Teresa has been great everyone! She did my resume and a bunch of cover letters. She needs to start a business helping people get a job, she's that good! I can't interview, just like I couldn't give oral presentations in school. I get nervous and sweat and talk too fast and too much, shocking huh? So HELP ME!!!

Car Wash Update!

The car wash was absolutely incredible. It went from 7am-1pm and was non-stop cars! Everyone was so generous! And everyone that helped, worked their butts off! I was so tired and burnt! Everytime I thought I would leave, I would see the line of cars and all the people helping to clean and I just couldn't leave. The kids also had so much fun selling the baked goods! We raised $9000.00 !!!! It was unbelievable! And it's being matched, so $18,000 was earned to help Shelley and her family. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to everyone!!!

1st day of SCHOOL cont..

So Ryan's 1st day was more of a big deal since he started FULL day Kindergarten. He also didn't have 2 years of preschool like Caitlin so it was pretty traumatic to say the least. He cried so hard on the 1st day and they wouldn't let me in the school to walk him to class cuz they were going in on the side door. You have to have a pass to get in school so I had to go around to the front. I think there was only one other kid besides Ryan crying. And of course, I was the only mom balling! So it was a very rough 2-3 weeks. He loves it now, and has a GREAT teacher. He is already writing his name and learning so much. And being the wild boy that we all know, he has already gotten in trouble from the principal. So I have a daughter with straight A's on the principal's list and a son on the WRONG principal's list, LOL.

I love this picture since the smile is not his genuine smile, but his "nervous" smile!
